Awards For Learning and Earning – Apprenticeship Winners 2024
The Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Award winners have been announced for 2024! The overall winner this year is Gemma Williams who has carried out an apprenticeship in the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
For the first time, the awards cover the whole of Greater Lincolnshire – with employers, training providers and apprentices themselves being nominated across the area. The winners were announced at an event held at the Showroom in Lincoln on Thursday 16th May
Gemma Williams won the category of ‘Public Services Apprenticeship Champion’ and went on to be the overall apprentice champion.
Gemma said,
“Traditional education wasn’t the right fit for me – I yearned for practical application alongside theoretical learning, and an apprenticeship offered the ideal combination.
I’ve developed valuable skills and confidence, particularly in communication, problem-solving and data analysis. I have been able to spend time with partner organisations to learn about their operations and build my network of contacts.”
Cllr Patricia Bradwell, Executive Councillor for Adult Learning at the County Council, added
“Gemma has clearly worked hard in her apprenticeship and has become a valuable asset to her employer. Congratulations, all of our award winners have clearly shown the benefits of apprenticeships when they’re fully embraced. The apprentices themselves get great personal development and industry opportunities and employers can train and shape their employees to meet their needs.
“I’m also grateful to the huge range of training providers we have that support apprenticeships right across the board – there are so many great opportunities out there for both school leavers and those already employed but looking to progress their careers.”
The Greater Lincolnshire Apprenticeship Champion Awards are run in partnership between the Public Service Compact Group, Lincolnshire County Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP).
