Greater Lincolnshire Skills Bootcamps
Skills Bootcamps are flexible courses of at least 60 hours of training giving people the opportunity to gain new skills.
If you take part in a Skills Bootcamp, the training provider will support you to:
- Get a job with a local employer
- Progress with your current employer
- Win new contracts for your business
Eligibility for Skills Bootcamps
Skills Bootcamps are free to all learners and can be online, face-to-face, or a mixture of both depending on the subject.
You must live in Greater Lincolnshire to be eligible for a local course.
If your employer wants you to complete the Skills Bootcamp, they must pay a contribution based on the size of the business (10% for small and medium sized businesses, 30% for large businesses).
Skills Bootcamp are for:
- Most adults over the age of 19.
- Adults who are already working and thinking of switching careers can attend Skills Bootcamps to learn a new skill to help them find a brand-new job with a new employer.
- Adults who are unemployed or self-employed can attend Skills Bootcamps to get the skills they need to find a job or gain new contracts.
- Adults who are returning to work after a break can attend too, a Skills Bootcamp course could be just what’s needed to retrain for a new career.
- Adults with a job who want to remain with their existing employer and learn new skills to help them take on new job roles should speak to their employer.
- Employers who want to train their staff must make a small contribution towards the cost of the course. The rest is funded by the government.
- Employers can also offer job interviews to people who have completed other Skills Bootcamps.
