Celebrating National Numeracy Day 2024 in Lincolnshire

At 2aspire, we’re all about helping you boost your numeracy skills through the Multiply programme. We know how important it is to feel confident with numbers in your everyday life, whether you’re budgeting at home or tackling tasks at work.

That’s why we’re excited about National Numeracy Day on May 22nd and want to let you know about the free courses available across Lincolnshire this month, including on that day. These courses are designed to boost your confidence and ability in maths for everyday tasks at home or work. About Multiply

Multiply is a government-funded programme aimed at supporting adults aged 19 and older who want to strengthen their numeracy skills. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been a maths whiz or if you haven’t touched a maths textbook in years. Multiply is here to help you feel more comfortable using basic maths in real-life situations.

With Multiply, you’ll dive into practical maths topics that you can apply to your daily life. Whether it’s learning how to manage your finances, assisting your children with homework, or understanding statistics in the news, Multiply has courses tailored just for you. Plus, the best part? These courses are absolutely free!

Join Us for National Numeracy Day May 22nd, 2024

On National Numeracy Day, there are plenty of events running across the Lincolnshire region. Whether you’re looking to brush up on your numeracy skills, explore new career opportunities, or simply gain more confidence with numbers, there’s something for everyone. Here’s a glimpse of what’s happening in the Lincolnshire region on or around National Numeracy Day

  • 3 Counties Accounts Training Service, Grantham: An introduction to working in finance (10:00-12:00), Slow cooker fudge (12:30-14:30), Location: 1A The Old Malthouse, Springfield Business Park, Grantham, NG31 7BG
  • Community Learning in Partnership (CLIP): Pizza Making, Interactive Games, Activity Sheets, Free Pizza. Locations & Times: CLIP,142 Bridge Street, Gainsborough (2:30 pm – 4:30 pm): CLIP,18 Queen Street, Market Rasen (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm), CLIP, Seacroft Road, Mablethorpe (10:00 am – 12:00 pm)
  • Curiosity Global Education, Lincoln: Monday May 27th, Dive into a Day of Numbers and Fun! Location: Moorland Community Centre. Time: 11.00-15.00
  • Just Begin: ‘Conveyor belt’ pizza dough station at Cherry Willingham Primary School (for school’s parents only) 15.00.
  • Grantham College – find them in the shopping centre and community café: where they will be promoting Multiply by sharing numeracy activities and finding out local people’s skills and needs.
  • KeyEdSol, Skegness: Unleash your creativity skills by building a complete circle using Pringles – because the fun doesn’t stop when you pop! Plus, chance to win a £50 Tesco Voucher. Location: Skegness Library from 10am – 12.30pm
  • Riverside Training: Pizza Making, Interactive Games, and Free Pizza sessions. Time: 15.00-17.00, Gainsborough Uphill Community Centre, Riseholme Road. Gainsborough.
  • Lincoln NHS Community Health Service: NHS staff can pop into a drop-in session where between 10-1 to speak to tutors and find out more about Multiply.

  • Grantham College: Cooking for One (May 23rd), Breadmaking (June 17th), Cooking with an Air Fryer (June 20th), Healthy Eating – Cooking for Fun (June 24th), Essential numeracy for life in the UK (June 10th – June 24th)
  • Grimsby Institute, Louth: Increase Confidence with Numbers, Supporting Job Skills – Maths 4 Beginner, Supporting Job Skills, Maths 4 every day, Courses for Parents
  • Keyedsol, Skegness: Mumpreneur Course
