Become a Numeracy Champion and Help Others Build Confidence with Numbers
Businesses of all sizes and sectors across Greater Lincolnshire now have a unique chance to upskill their teams and give back to their communities – all at no cost!
National Numeracy, in partnership with Experian UK, has launched a fully-funded initiative to train Numeracy Champions across the region, including Greater Lincolnshire. Their aim is to improve numeracy confidence, boost employability, and strengthen financial wellbeing across the workforce and wider community.
Whether you’re an individual, part of a workplace, community group or organisation that supports others, this opportunity is for you.
What is a Numeracy Champion?
A Numeracy Champion is not a maths teacher. Instead, they support others to feel more confident using numbers in everyday life. Whether it’s helping colleagues manage work tasks, supporting customers with forms or finances, or simply encouraging people to take the first step, Numeracy Champions are there to make a positive difference.
You don’t need to be a maths expert – just someone who already works with or supports adults, such as team members, learners, or service users.
What’s Involved?
The training is CPD-accredited and delivered online in two easy, two-hour sessions. You’ll learn how to:
- Start simple, supportive conversations using the ‘Time to Talk Numbers’ approach
- Direct adults to the National Numeracy Challenge – a free online learning platform
- (Optional) Run ‘Confidence with Numbers’ workshops in your organisation
This training gives you practical tools to support people in overcoming number anxiety, helping them feel more confident in their job roles and everyday life.
