Lifelong Learning Week 2024

Lifelong Learning Week is just around the corner, taking place from 4th – 8th November, 2024. This exciting event aims to promote and celebrate lifelong learning across various sectors. 

Throughout the week, different organisations and community members will come together to highlight the importance of lifelong learning. They will share helpful resources and host a range of events that support adult education and skills development.

The week will offer guidance for people at various stages of their careers, focusing on opportunities for changing jobs, returning to education, and finding work after a break in employment. 

2aspire is thrilled to present some fantastic, fully funded adult courses over Lifelong Learning Week. See below the various options and sign up to TRY SOMETHING NEW this autumn! You can learn everything from making Christmas cakes to bread-making or up-cycling picture frames.

INTRODUCTION TO ENGLISH 

Join our Introduction to English course to learn the basics of English sounds, letters, and numbers. You’ll also discover how to tell time and describe your daily routine, preparing you for the Essential English programme.

CUSTOMER SERVICE LEVEL 1   

This course offers the opportunity to gain work experience in the Abbey Access training cafe and achieve supporting qualifications. Individuals will be required to attend for 20 days. The 4 weeks will then be followed by supported job search sessions to help you gain employment.

NUMERACY BOOST: YOUR PATH TO CONFIDENT MATHS  

Through this course, you’ll explore the fun, beauty, and meaningfulness of maths, which will change your attitudes towards the subject. This course aims to help you gain the confidence needed in supporting your child’s learning.

HEALTHY FAMILIES   

Join us for a heartwarming and creative family workshop where participants will engage in decorating plant pots and planting a flower to create a personalised gift.

A follow-on course from our basic ICT. Learn how to apply your skills in the workplace through a range of different tasks.

PILATES FOR A HEALTHY BODY AND MIND 

This course focuses on core stability and strength. If you struggle with back, neck, or shoulder issues, feel stressed, or want to improve your flexibility, this class is perfect for you. It’s a low-impact workout that strengthens your joints without strain, tones your entire body, and improves overall fitness.

UP-CYCLING A PICTURE FRAME

EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK   

In this session hosted by Soteria Solutions, you’ll learn about the roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider., You will have the opportunity to demonstrate practical skills, including performing CPR on the floor. After completing the training, you’ll also take a 15-question multiple-choice assessment, and upon passing, you will receive a certificate valid for three years.
